About Kalchik Disposal

Started in the late 1960's, founder Walt Kalchik picked up trash in his pick-up truck for a weekend job. By the beginning of the 1980's the pick-up was retired and the first full-sized garbage truck was purchased.

While Walt passed away in November of 2001, the business is continued by Becky and Terry Warner (Walt's daughter and son-in-law) along with Walt's sons, Guy and David Kalchik. Donna, Walt's wife and partner of 41 years is happily retired.

In August of 2006, the Kalchik/Warner family downsized the business back to the northern end of Leelanau County. Residential and commercial service is now north of East Duck Lake Rd. (M-204.)

For residential or commercial service south of M-204, please see our friends at American Waste (231-258-9030).

We happily provide temp cans for builders or clean-ups throughout Leelanau County.
